Project Description:
Purdue is testing a device called the Biowall that is a living wall of plants integrated with the HVAC system of a buildiong to improve indoor air quality and potentially reduce energy consumption. The Biowall is being evaluated as part of a student competition sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency called the EPA P3.
Expected Student Contributions:
The intern will design and evaluate a modular biofilter that supports plant growth.

Desired Qualifications:
GPA > 3.0, junior standing or higher, graduation May 2014 or later, coursework in CAD (e.g. mechanical engineering techology, experience with injection molding or rapid prototyping
