Project Description:
Pre-College Engineering Education gains traction. Researchers want to particularly find out what K-12 students know and how they perceive engineering. This project investigates the affective characterizations elementary school students attach to drawings of engineers, scientists, teachers, and doctors. We hope to find out differences across the drawings for these different professions and gain understanding the interest level of young children.
Expected Student Contributions:
The undergraduate intern will be involved in many aspects of the project: will organize, code, and analyze the drawing data. Opportunity will be given in write-up of the results and presentation at local or regional conferences.

Desired Qualifications:
Must have the following CITI training certification: (1) Group 5.Non-Key Personnel and (2) Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research Course 1) or be willing to do the training prior to beginning work, reliable, computer savvy, able to work independently and in small groups, strong mathematics/statistics background, good academic writing skills, STEM background is a plus.
