Project Description:
A quantum computer, which harnesses the laws of quantum physics to perform computation and information processing, could potentially solve problems that would take a classical supercomputer the age of universe to compute in just minutes. One promising approach to build such a quantum computer is to use photons to manipulate the quantum states of atoms or molecules to process quantum information. This project aims to develop relevant laser based photonic devices for manipulating atomsmolecules and explore their potential in quantum information technologies.

Desired Qualifications:
GPA 3.5 or above junior or senior in physical sciences or engineering with course work in physics, electronics or optics. Previous experiences in laboratory research, electronicscircuits, and optics a plus.
