Project Description:
This project is looking at methods for analyzing the nature of online collaboration and social networking in the context of a healthcare web portal. The Regenstrief Center has developed a website ( that is serving as a way to connect researchers with healthcare practitioners to develop strategies for addressing various healthcare delivery problems. This project seeks to identify ways of demonstrating impact of portal usage on healthcare delivery.
Expected Student Contributions:
The student will work with faculty and developers in ITaP to analyze and characterize participant use of, which is based on Purdue's hubzero platform ( The student will develop techniques for characterizing and evaluating the use of and collaborate with other research teams examining hub usage in other areas.

Desired Qualifications:
Strong technical skills, coursework or major in computer science, engineering, technology or related field, comfort and experience examining website usage. 3.0 GPA, and 30+ hours of coursework.
