Project Description:
This project is to use lasers, micro and nano optical focusing elements, and high precision positioning systems to manufacturer micrometer and nanometer scale features. A laser-based manufacturing system is available in Prof. Xu’s laboratory in the Birck Nanotechnology Center. The undergraduate student will work with graduate students to carry out system improvement, testing, and analysis.
Expected Student Contributions:
Examples of tasks that undergraduate student can be involved include developing control algorithms, developing manufacturing strategies, developing precision alignment systems, and carrying out manufacturing processes.
