Project Description:
The assurance of airport security and safety management has evolved from a reactive to a proactive and predictive fashion. The rationality of a proactive and predictive safety program is to detect hazards or threats and mitigate them before resulting in an accident. This continuous study aims to improve a recently developed PU Airport Hazard Reporting System to initiate PU SMS at a collegiate level. This follow-up project would help airport administration to identify salient hazards affecting airport operation and provide countermeasures in a timely manner.
Expected Student Contributions:
The current PU airport hazard reporting system has built the avenue to collect hazard reports and database is ready for analysis. The selected intern will work closely with supervisory faculty in developing the needed codings extracting data for an statistical analysis and hazard forecast.
