Project Description:
As a smartphone becomes more powerful in computing power, equipped with high resolution and sensitive camera, we envision the applicability of the smartphone beyond the standard phone calls and web-browsing. Many scientists reported cellphone based system such as spectrometer, microscope, and so on. Here we plan to develop a set of image processing algorithms that can be used for object counting and classification for microscopic images.
Expected Student Contributions:
The undergraduate intern will work along with my graduate students to perform the following task. 1. Learn and help to design and fabricate special attachments for smartphones 2. Use android studio to develop a series of code for image processing and data analysis

pre-requisite will be 1. Some experience w/ analog circuit design and soldering 2. CAD experience 3. Android coding experience
