Project Description:
The student intern will participate in the externally funded data and computing cyberinfrastructure projects at Purdue. The student will learn about scientific data, including geospatial data, and their use in research and education. He/she will participate in designing and developing scientific software tools to enable online modeling, data processing, analysis and visualization for domain scientists. Specific responsibilities include creating software to process data, visualize data, connect data with tools, develop user interfaces, and execute applications on high performance computing systems, etc. Other duties may include creating documentation, training materials, and assisting with presentations. The student will meet with supervisor regularly, participate in project discussions, and periodically report and demonstrate progress to the team.
Expected Student Contributions:
The student will contribute to the projects by developing additional capabilities to address the needs of research and education in scientific domain. The student will learn by participating in the full software development cycle, including understanding user needs, designing, coding, testing, integrating and writing documentation, in a team environment.

Desired Qualifications:
GPA 3.5 or higher, familiar with object-oriented programming, strong programming skills in Python, Java, C, C++, PHP, JavaScript, R, or other languages, familiar with software development in Linux.
