Project Description:
The Biowall project is developing a living filter that uses plants to improve indoor air quality. Work on this project is progressing in two areas. One area is testing the Biowall in a laboratory setting to evaluate air cleaning. The other area is developing a full scale Biowall for installation/evaluation in a home.
Expected Student Contributions:
Assistance is needed in two areas. One research team is working in the Applied Energy Laboratory to evaluate contaminate removal characteristics, e.g. the plants ability to remove VOC's. The other research team is designing a biowall and controls so that it can be remotely monitored and controlled in home.
