Project Description:
In this developmental work, the student will work closely with the graduate student and assist in the characterization of a nano particle technology that can be used as a precise drug delivery vehicle to target cancer cells and deliver therapy. The nano particles are made of natural polymers and these have the ability to carry drugs to a targeted site. These particles also serve as imaging agents, hence images of particle accumulation in live animal models can be obtained to assess the degree of targeting and efficacy of drug delivery.
Expected Student Contributions:
The intern will work with a graduate student on a part of their research to learn the basic skills. Once basic skills are acquired, the intern will be expected to characterize drug delivery systems, help in in vivo analysis, and develop models for tissue characteristics and particle behavior.

Sophomore, Junior, Senior. GPA > 3.25; highly motivated and want to excel. Willing to learn and undergo training as appropriate and needed for the project. Ability to manage time and be committed
